All dreams are able to become a reality with a lot of hard work and determination, Arturo and Lucy are the picture-perfect example of this. Arturo was just 15 years old when he began working in the restaurant industry. It was then when he began dreaming of owning his own restaurants one day. He began his journey into working his way up to make his dreams become a reality. Arturo started in the back of the house as a dishwasher and worked his way through every role of the business. Arturo knew that to be successful in this business he had to know how every position worked and how they all worked together. He has done everything; dishwashing, hosting, bussing, serving and then finally landing his first managerial role. This is where he met his now wife, Lucy. Lucy is a very intelligent hard working business woman with years of University under her belt and holds a business management degree, when Lucy and Arturo got together they realized their common dreams and would soon become the power couple we all know and love to this day.

Lucy and Arturo spent a lot of time dreaming together of a place where not only people could gather to enjoy great food but where they would feel welcomed and at home. They spent a lot of time looking at different locations not wanting to settle knowing that this was their one chance at finally making their dreams and visions a reality. After countless sleepless nights and a lot of dedication and hard work, they were finally able to open their first restaurant; Mangos Mexican Cuisine.

Mangos Mexican Cuisine was nestled into a quaint space in a shopping plaza in Alpena, Michigan the duo was quick to learn they made the right choice in the community of where to start their journey. The community quickly became like family the moment the doors were opened. The dream became a reality, laughter and joy constantly filled the air. After a few years of experiencing the memories and accomplishments their first location brought, Lucy and Arturo then took the grand leap into opening a second location in East Tawas, Michigan. They were again met with a very welcoming community and knew they made the right choice. Years later they now have 4 successful businesses between the two communities and look forward to building relationships like they have in their two homes with any future endeavors. 

The journey was not always easy but the love and support experienced has made everything beyond worth it. Everyday they wake up excited to share their passions and create new memories with people they are able to call family. Today, the restaurant is not just a place to eat; it is a second home and a gathering place for friends and family and a testament to being able to accomplish anything with hard work.
